The City of Batavia Police Department has an intimate understanding of area residents. They patrol our neighborhoods and sometimes enter our homes.
Through their investigating and patrolling, officers see first-hand the situations some families live in. It’s because of this that the Department has teamed up with the Salvation Army to provide help to families in need this holiday season.
“In coordination with the things we know personally dealing with people and helping people in the community," Detective Richard Schauf said, "we see that there’s a great need that children have for basic supplies such as socks, underwear and pajamas.”
There is a collection container at the City of Batavia headquarters located at 10 West Main Street. The department is requesting new clothing items and new toys. The collection will run until Dec. 14.
