A corrections officer of the Orleans County’s Sheriff’s Office is facing charges following an investigation into allegations of misconduct while on duty.

Charles Parker, 47, is a seven-year veteran and being charged with two counts of Official Misconduct – a class A misdemeanor. Parker allegedly engaged in inappropriate conduct with a female inmate in the Orleans County Jail. He is also accused of providing money that was eventually used to to bail a different female inmate out of jail. Neither of the two women involved are still incarcerated.

Parker appeared in court this afternoon. The matter was adjourned until Dec. 12. The judge issued an order of protection for all those involved and Parker was forced to surrender his firearms. He is currently on paid administrative leave.
