Eunice Bellinger was streaming Mozart music from her phone as she wandered through the grass and crunchy leaves at the Town of Batavia Kiwanis Park on Route 5. She and Molly, a 9-year-old terrier mutt she rescued, saw a dandelion on their walk today.
“Isn’t it just wonderful?" Bellinger said. "She (Molly) loves it here and this might be one of the last days we can go for a good, quality walk.”
For Dec. 3 standards in western New York, a 60-plus degree day is luxurious for most. Today’s high of 66 degrees was set in 1941 in Rochester. Temperatures today reached 65 in Batavia.
Jim walks his schnoodle named Shadow several times a day even when the high temperature is in the 40s, as it normally is this time of year.
“He’d (Shadow) rather be in this type of weather than the snow.”
