An agreement has been reached that will make sure the Maid of the Mist will continue to operate on the U.S. side of the international border in Niagara Falls.
Governor Andrew Cuomo made the announcement during his visit to Buffalo yesterday, saying the boat excursions will continue to operate from Niagara Gorge. Tour operator Maid of the Mist Corporation is planning to spend $32 million to transform the former Schoelkopf Power Station into a winter storage and maintenance facility.
