A Rochester mother accused of starting a house fire that killed four of her children pleaded guilty to manslaughter today in Monroe County Court.
It’s part of a plea deal for 31-year-old Bobbie Kugler to avoid going to trial which could have resulted in a life sentence since she was facing second-degree murder charges. In the plea deal, Kugler also pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree assault and one count of fourth-degree arson.
With the plea deal, Kugler acknowledges reckless, not intentional, actions under law.
Kugler is set to be scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 22.
