12/12/12 is an easy date to remember which is why it’s the first day of the state’s STOP DWI campaign for the holiday season.
This is the last of seven STOP-DWI crackdowns for the year. Law enforcement agencies in all 62 counties will be utilizing sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols to deter impaired driving and ensure the safety of the shared roadway. STOP DWI stands for “Special Traffic Operations Program While Intoxicated.” Fines collected from the program for alcohol and other drug-related offenses stay within the jurisdiction.
The current STOP DWI crackdown runs through Jan. 1.
