We reported earlier this week that $50,000 bond was posted for Jacquetta Simmons and Friday she was officially granted her release.
Simmons was convicted for punching a 70-year-old Wal-Mart worker on Christmas Eve of 2011 and sentenced to five years in prison. A six-month stay was granted pending an appeal of her sentence which her defense team deems too harsh for the crime.
