A Livingston County man who attempted to prey on a child in Batavia, has been convicted on pornography charges in federal court.
46-year-old Dalton Wilke of Conesus was found guilty this morning of Enticement, Receipt of Child Pornography, and Possession of Child Pornography.
Back in 2008, Wilke began internet communications with what he thought was a 15-year-old Batavia boy. The boy, in reality, was Batavia Police Detective Todd Crossett, posing online as a 15-year-old. Crossett was able to set-up a meeting with Wilke in Batavia – that’s when FBI agents and Batavia Police took him down.
Detective Crossett spoke with us this afternoon about Wilke’s conviction.
Dalton Wilke is now being held in federal custody. He faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and $250,000 in fines.
