Opening statements in the murder trial of Scott Dole will begin tomorrow morning in Genesee County Court.
A jury of nine women and three men, plus four alternate jurors selected this afternoon, will hear testimony and evaluate the evidence in the case. Dole, 46 of Corfu, is charged with Second Degree Murder in the slaying of Joseph Benaquist of Pembroke in February, 2009.
Genesee County District Attorney Lawrence Friedman will deliver his opening statements first followed by Dole’s defense attorney, Paul Cambria of Buffalo.
Testimony in the trial is expected to take at least two weeks.
Genesee County Court Judge Robert Noonan is presiding.
