Gov. Andrew Cuomo could soon be facing a backlash over any efforts to toughen gun laws in the state.
Officials with the state Rifle and Pistol Association say they plan to activate phone banks asking gun owners to bombard Cuomo and legislators with phone calls and e-mails demanding no new restrictions on guns in the EmpireState.
Group leaders say tougher gun restrictions will not prevent tragedies like the Newtown, Conn., school shooting.
