A Batavia man facing two assault charges has been jailed without bail.

Sean Case, 35, of Washington Avenue is facing second- and third-degree assault charges for an alleged incident New Year’s Day just before 7 a.m.

Case is accused of punching and breaking the nose of another person while at an apartment on South Main Street. Another person was injured trying to prevent continued assault by Case.


Two Batavia man are facing second-degree harassment charges.

Chad Johnston, 26, of Liberty Street allegedly punched another person in the head. He is scheduled to appear in City Court on Jan. 15.

Also, 41-year-old Douglas Bryant Jr. of Florence Avenue is accused of threatening another person repeatedly and spitting and throwing food at the person.


A Bethany man is facing a criminal mischief charge.

Steven Decker, 62, of Francis Road allegedly broke the windows of the victim’s vehicle with a sledge hammer.

He was issued an appearance for Bethany Town Court for Feb. 5.
