A religious freedom lawsuit involving the town of Greece could end up before the U.S. Supreme Court.
The group Alliance Defending Freedom has asked the high court to reconsider an appeals court ruling involving prayers used to start Greece Town Board meetings. The lower court had ruled the town's practice of inviting clergy from only churches in Greece violated First Amendment rights since Greece's churches are predominantly Christian and such prayers could be construed as government endorsement of a particular religion.
The Court is expected to decide sometime in the spring whether or not to hear the case.
