A LeRoy woman has been arrested in connection to an overdose death in August.

Heather Price, 37, of 18 Genesee Street is charged with two felony counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, according to the LeRoy Police Department.

The investigation began in August when Price reported that she found the victim dead in Price’s apartment.

Subsequent investigation by the LeRoy Police Department revealed that Price and the victim exchanged prescription narcotic medications.

The Monroe County Medical Examiners Office determined, following autopsy and toxicology tests, that the victim died of a combined mixture of narcotic substances including fentanyl and methadone.

Following her arraignment, Price was remanded to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

The LeRoy Police Department says this is the third fentanyl-related death handled by the Department in the past few years. It asks all citizens to be aware of what medications you are prescribed, use them only as directed, and do not share medication.
