The Batavia City Council is holding a special business meeting tonight.
There are three procedural measures the council must approve to stay on track to pass a budget on time.
Action tonight will introduce a local law to raise water rates, another will introduce a local law to establish the new garbage plan and another will schedule a public hearing on the budget itself.
There will be no votes on any of those measures.
Council has also scheduled an executive session.
The special business meeting and executive session is scheduled to be followed by a conference meeting to discuss sidewalk snow removal, the ban on assault rifles and railroad safety.
Residents may attend the meeting by first signing in the city clerk. It begins at 7 p.m.
