A former Erie County sheriff's deputy has been sentenced to prison for a crash last summer in Amherst that left a motorcyclist seriously injured.

Michael Haug of Kenmore was driving with a blood alcohol content of more than three times the legal limit when he struck Daniel Colosimo. A judge sentenced Haug to between two and six years in prison, imposing a longer sentence after learning that he had been stopped on suspicion of drunk driving in 2009 and was let go by Town of Tonawanda Police

Colosimo suffered massive injuries in the crash, and continues to recover.
