A Fairmont Avenue man was sentenced to three months intermittent jail time today in Batavia Town Court.

Lee Heckman, 35, pleaded guilty in March to one count of fourth-degree Attempted Grand Larceny and admitted to knowingly obtaining almost $2,200 in temporary assistance and food stamp benefits from March 2011 to July 2011.

Heckman is a self-employed scrap recycler and he did not disclose his earnings during that time period.

Since the plea, Heckman has repaid the Department of Social Services in full and has been disqualified from both programs.

Anyone wishing to report suspected cases of welfare fraud in Genesee County are asked to make a confidential call to the Department of Social Services.
