The American Red Cross is assisting the family of nine that lost their house yesterday in a fire in Pavilion.
Volunteer Thomas Brugman responded to the fire that erupted around 10 a.m. at 8029 Telephone Road. The house was a total loss.
Even though the family refused housing assistance at the Clarion Hotel because they have family to stay with, the Red Cross says it also offers a pre-loaded debit card for food and clothing to help victims of fire. In fact, the Tri-County Chapter spends an average of $1,000 assisting a single house fire affecting a family of four.
If you want to help the Pavilion family, call the Red Cross at 343-6098. They won’t be able to take direct assistance from you to give to the family because the Red Cross is committed to an equitable system, but they can help facilitate contact with the affected family.
The Disaster Action Team is a group of specially trained volunteers who respond to the scene of a local disaster when called upon 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For more information on how to Join Us as a Disaster Action Team member, please contact the Red Cross at 343-6098.
