Two out-of-town men were arrested this weekend for allegedly stealing two X-Box game consoles from a dormitory at College Village.
Eighteen-year-old William Hucks of Webster and 19-year-old Jihad Abdul Hakiim of New York City were charged with second-degree burglary and remanded to the custody of the Sheriff with bail set at $5,000 for Hucks and $15,000 for Hakiim.
A Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputy is facing serious charges after being accused of bringing contraband into the county jail and giving it to inmates.
Robert Schleyer, 32, was assigned as a deputy sheriff corrections in the jail division and is charged with promoting prison contraband and receiving a reward for official misconduct. Schleyer posted 25-hundred dollars bail and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
A 23-year-old Medina man who allegedly drove 84 miles per hour in a posted 30 mph zone is facing a felony DWI charge.
The incident occurred early Sunday on Water Street in Oakfield. Steven Dennis has a previous DWI conviction within the last 10 years making this alleged incident a felony. The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office also says Dennis was found with marijuana and was clocked at going 94 miles per hour in a 55 zone.
He was issued appearance tickets for Town of Oakfield Court March 25.
