Police do not suspect any foul play in the death of a infant over the weekend.
The baby boy was found unconscious at a LeRoy tattoo shop on Saturday.
Five-month-old Michael Schad of Elba was found unresponsive at the Full Tilt Custom Tattoo parlor on Main Street in LeRoy early Saturday evening.
Michael was with his grandparents, Michael Sr. and Karen Schad of Elba. Michael Senior apparently was at the shop to get a tattoo.
A 9-1-1 call was placed stating that Karen had passed out and an infant with her was not breathing. A bystander performed CPR on Michael, but it was too late.
The baby was pronounced dead at a hospital. The grandmother, Karen, was also hospitalized but has since been released.
Chief Christpher Hayward of the LeRoy Police said a preliminary autopsy failed to pinpoint the cause of death.
Authorities speculate that the child may have died from an illness or was accidentally injured when his grandmother collapsed.
Michael Schad was born last September, the son of Michelle Schad of Elba. Calling hours will be held tomorrow at H.E. Turner funeral home in Batavia.
