A bill floating around the statehouse in Albany has the law enforcement community up in arms. The measure, called the "minimum force law," would require cops to shoot gun-wielding suspects in the arm or leg rather than killing them.
Genesee County Sheriff Gary Maha is firmly against the bill. He calls it "ridiculous."
Maha says the "shoot to wound" concept goes against an officer’s training to protect himself and citizens however possible.
The bill is being held in an Assembly committee.
