A woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle drugs to an inmate at the Attica Correctional Facility.
Authorities said 39-year-old Tawana Green of Rochester tried to pass four balloons filled with marijuana to an inmate during a scheduled visit.
The inmate involved is serving an 18-year sentence for robbery and assault.
Police in Erie County have returned seven handguns to an Amherst resident after they were confiscated by mistake.
David Lewis was notified earlier this month that his pistol permit had been suspended under a provision of the NY SAFE Act that deemed him dangerous. However, police notified the wrong David Lewis. This David Lewis says he was treated as a criminal.
His attorney says he will sue.
Southwest Airlines is now operating at Greater Rochester International Airport. Southwest service begins this week as part of the company's takeover of AirTran Airways.

Former Genesee County Sheriff Douglas Call has died.
Mr. Call passed away Sunday at his home in Stafford.
Call was sheriff from 1980-1987.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 until 7 at the H.E. Turner Funeral Home in Batavia. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church of LeRoy.
The Home Visitation Program offered through the Genesee County Office for the Aging is in need of volunteers.
The program helps older adults remain independent and in their homes, while providing them a few hours a week of assistance and companionship.
The program is free to adults over 60 years of age.
Ely says volunteers should be patient, caring, enjoy the company of older adults and have their own transportation.
