Two Buffalo women were arrested in Wyoming County last Sunday.
26-year-old Lonniqua Williams was charged by deputies for speeding, giving a false name, driving without a valid license, driving with an unrestrained child under the age of 4 and with an open container of alcohol.
Williams called 20-year-old Lonniesha White to take custody of the child, but it turns out White allegedly had a suspended license and an outstanding arrest warrant in Cheektowaga.
Williams was remanded to Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. White was jailed on $500 bail. Both are due in Covington Town Court at a later date.
A Rochester woman is accused of trying to pass marijuana to an inmate during a scheduled visitation at the Attica Correctional Facility last week.
39-year-old Tawana Green was charged with a misdemeanor count each of promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of marijuana. State Police say Green allegedly to pass 4 colored balloons which were filled with approximately 28 grams of marihuana to an inmate serving an 18-year sentence for robbery and assault.
She was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
A Tonawanda Indian Reservation man is charged with felony DWI following a Genesee County Sheriff’s Office investigation into a car accident that sent the driver to the hospital.
45-year-old Rodney Dean was driving on Akron Road in Pembroke yesterday at around 8 p.m., when the sheriff’s office says he exited the south shoulder of the roadway, hit a National Grid pole and knocked wires to the ground. Dean suffered lacerations and contusions to his face and was transported to ECMC by ambulance for evaluation.
He was treated and released yesterday. Additional charges are pending.
