Two young Genesee County residents are charged with a felony burglary charge after a 9-month investigation by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

18-year-old Jamie Bachorski of Webber Avenue, Oakfield and 23-year-old Matthew Vandorn of Trumbull Parkway, Batavia, are accused of forcibly entering a barn on Dillon Road in Pavilion last July and stealing several items inside.

Both were taken into custody yesterday and jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail. They are due in Pavilion Town Court May 7.


A Town of Alabama man is facing five charges for allegedly failing to stop for a police vehicle and leading the pursuit through the Tonawanda Indian Reservation.

25-year-old Carl Shetler of Lewiston Road is also accused of driving 139 miles per hour in a 55 zone, driving through a stop sign and driving without a license, according to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Alabama Court for May 21.
