The City of Batavia’s Memorial Day Parade ends up a success, thanks to the efforts of Rose Mary Christian and the Batavia City Council.
The parade’s fate was uncertain earlier this spring, when the event’s veteran coordinators appeared to have called it off. They cited a lack of outside help as the chief cause.
But Ward 6 Councilwoman Rose Mary Christian took it upon herself to see the parade through.

Christian insists the parade is an important part of honoring our veterans, and says she hopes the parade remains under the leadership of City Council.

The Memorial Day Parade proceeded from East Towne Plaza to the St. Joseph’s Church parking lot. In all, 20 groups participated by walking or driving the parade route.
