The search is on for a black male with a slender build in his 20’s or 30’s for a break-in and rape at a home on Gilbert Street in LeRoy. The woman was asleep when she was sexually assaulted. She suffered a chin laceration. LeRoy police are conducting the investigation.
A man who law enforcement says is allegedly responsible for sexually abusing children in Western New York has been indicted by a Genesee County Grand Jury. 44 year old Sean Vickers is charged with sexual conduct against a child. He’s accused of sexually abusing a child under the age of 13 from November 2001 to April 2002. Vickers was arrested last month and at the time sent to jail with bail set at 500 thousand dollars.
An Attica woman has been indicted on two charges including one felony after an alleged shoplifting incident at the Dollar General Store in Attica. The indictment charges 32 year old Carrie Stewart of Attica with petit larceny and tampering with physical evidence, which is a Class E felony. She’s accused of stealing items from the Dollar General last November 15th and when confronted by store employees she allegedly threw the items in to the Tonawanda Creek. The items then floated away.
In Batavia City Court yesterday, 29 year old Jon Bush Junior of Oak Orchard Road was hit with a surprise. He was arrested for a burglary that occurred in the City of Batavia on March 26th. Bush had been in court on an unrelated matter. Bush reportedly stole a safe containing cash and jewelry while the residence was occupied. He’s in jail with bail set at 20 thousand dollars.
26 year old Jeffrey Deats of Olyn Avenue in Batavia has been charged with Aggravated Harassment. He allegedly made threatening calls to a female. The incident happened on the Pratt Road in the Town of Pembroke. Also an order of protection has been issued.
There are problems at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo after 18 patients were found to have tested positive for Hepatitis. Congressman Chris Collins made the announcement yesterday. He says it’s possible that insulin pens may have been reused. However VA officials say there is no way of knowing how the patients contracted Hepatitis.
The case of the neglected dogs in Wyoming County has led to an arrest. 54 year old Joseph Wenzel Junior of Bank Road in the Town of Middlebury has been charged with 44 counts of animal abuse and one count of falsely reporting an incident. His father, 77 year old Joseph Wenzel Senior of Batavia has been charged with 44 counts of Animal Abandonment. On April 29th, 44 small breed dogs were found abused and neglected.
