An Onondaga County man is facing several charges after allegedly almost hitting a Batavia Police Patrol vehicle head-on.
22-year-old Joshua Banick of Liverpool is charged with DWI, Driving While Ability Impaired Combined Influence of Alcohol and Drugs and other traffic violations.
Banick allegedly nearly missed a head-on crash with a BPD patrol vehicle on East Main Street in Batavia Thursday after 1:30 in the morning. Batavia Police says the near-miss led Banick to allegedly back through the 7-11 parking lot, going over a concrete parking space bumper and coming to a stop on the sidewalk near the front entrance.
Banick was issued uniformed traffic tickets and returned to CollegeVillage.
CORRECTION: A previous version of this article stated that Banick did make contact with the patrol car, which is inaccurate. We regret the error.
