A Darien Center man is accused of driving with a blood alcohol content almost twice the legal limit.
21-year-old Tate Westermeier is charged with driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of marijuana and felony aggravated unlicensed operation. Troopers who pulled over Westermeier on Centerline Road in the Town of Sheldon on June 2 say his license was suspended due to a previous alcohol-related offense.
He was jailed with bail set at $2,000 and is due in court at a later date.
Troopers at the time also charged a passenger – 23-year-old Larissa Bailey of Attica – with criminal possession of a controlled substance for allegedly being found with hydrocodone pills that were prescribed to someone else.
A 15-year-old Silver Springs boy is accused of stealing an automatic rifle from a village resident’s home.
The teen, who has not been identified by police, is facing a felony burglary charge. He will appear in court tomorrow with his parents.
An Oakfield man is facing three felony charges related to drunk driving.
51-year-old Steven Wells of Macomber Road is facing six total charges including driver’s view obstructed and operating without an interlock ignition device. Deputies say his license was revoked for a prior DWI conviction.
The Sheriff’s office report also says passenger 51-year-old Mary Wells, also of Macomber Road, allowed Steven Wells to drive the car registered in her name knowing that he didn’t have a valid license.
A second passenger, 56-year-old David Daniels, also of Macomber Road, is charged with consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
The incident allegedly occurred yesterday at 2 in the afternoon on Slusser Road in the Town of Pembroke. All three are due in court June 25.
