Golfers, tennis and bocce players participated in Genesee ARC’s annual tournament on Monday at Stafford Country Club under extreme heat and humidity, with temperature surpassing 90 degrees.
Coming out on top in the golf portion of Genesee ARC’s 37th annual tournament was Willie Waters who shot a 74, followed by Randy Traugott and Craig Schenck with 77s. Low gross honors for women went to Tina Lambert with a 92.

In the low net category, Dennis Buckley came in with a 62, followed by Ben Mancuso and Mike Cardone tied with 64s. Katie Houseknecht won low net for women for a third year in a row with a 68.
In the blind bogey competition, Ted Houseknecht matched the blind bogey number drawn of 75.
There were several contests on the course. In the longest drive on 7 Austin Wilkinson was the winner and winning closest to the line on 15 was Tom Brydges. Willie Waters won a Coor’s Lite golf bag and umbrella, courtesy of C.H. Wright in closest to the pin on 8 (3’4”). Kurt Calman won a Schwinn bicycle, donated by Adam Miller Toy & Bike in the same contest on 14 (11’3”). The top three winners in the closest to the pin on 12 were Mark Niederprum (3’4”), Doug Flynn (4’) and Tim Garlock (6’7”).
Top score in tennis went to Steve Rumery of Batavia. Ray Shirtz and Steve Clemm made up the first place team. Second place team winners were Dan Harvey and Phil McNulty.
The first place bocce team was Jeanne Walton, Anne Shearing, Lisa Dechau and Bob Bennett.
