Congressman Chris Collins says federal funding for presidential campaigns should instead be reallocated to expand pediatric research.
He’s co-sponsor for legislation called Kids First Research Act. It would take federal tax dollars used every four years to fund political activities and give it to the National Institutes of Health.
Collins says it would amount to $130 million over 10 years to support clinical trials and research in curing and preventing juvenile diabetes, autism, and more.
