Batavia’s Graham Corporation has revealed plans for a $5.5-million dollar expansion.
The company is planning renovations to existing office and manufacturing space and a new building on Florence St.
Graham is asking the county’s Economic Development center for 500-thosuand dollars in tax breaks.
The project is expected to add 30 new jobs at Graham over the next three years.
The Guthrie Heli-Arc company in Bergen is asking for tax breaks of $77,000 for expansion and re-location to a new facility in Stafford.
The company repairs transportation vehicles.
The project expected to create two jobs and retain six.
The EDC is expected to act on both projects when it meets this afternoon..
42 year old Tammy Green of Attica has been arrested on a felony DWI charge. Troopers say Tammy drove off a highway in the Wyoming County community of Orangeville. She was charged with DWI. A check revealed a previous DWI conviction in Batavia. That’s when the latest charge was elevated to a felony. Tammy was jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail.
23-year-old Robert DeCarr of Gainsville: has been arrested by State Police on a charge of sexual abuse.
Troopers say DeCarr abused a 9 year old girl back in 2006 and most recently a 13 year old girl. Authorities said both incidents occurred in Gainsville.
When troopers went to DeCarr’s home to make the arrest, they found four puppies in a cage on his front porch. One puppy was dead and the other three were emaciated.
DeCarr was then also charged with animal cruelty and neglect.
The families of Continental Flight 3407 are urging the new U.S. transportation secretary to create a pilot records database. More than 20 family members of the 2009 crash in Clarence Center told Secretary Anthony Foxx that such a database would help prevent the hiring of incompetent pilots.
All morning we had been telling you about re-paving on North St. Now, the city advises us that due to the rain, the North St. re-paving work has been postponed until tomorrow (Friday, Aug 2).
Expect delays on North St as traffic is reduced to one lane from State St. to Chandler Ave.
