The United Way has received a huge donation.
Employees of Five Star Bank throughout Western New York have raised over $100,000 dollars for the United Way. The money will be distributed to United Way branches all over the area. $45,000 dollars alone stayed in Wyoming County and pushed that branch beyond its 2010 fundraising goal.
United Way Regional Director Karen Rumfola says that will go a long way towards helping people.
"It's huge for United Way," Rumfola said. "The major focus and needs in the area are food, clothing and shelter; disaster relief for people who have a housefire; education for our children; care for people who are homeless or victims of domestic violence; and homecare and hospice."
$3,000 of that money will come to Genesee County.
