Saturday was the 2010 home opener for the Batavia Muckdogs, and one of our own here at WBTA was honored in a big way.
The name of Wayne Fuller will live on at Dwyer Stadium. The press box, where Wayne sat and announced games as the “Voice of the Muckdogs” for 25 years, has been renamed in his honor.
Genesee County Baseball Council Director Gerald Malley says the “Wayne H. Fuller Press Box” is a fitting tribute to a man we all have our memories of; fellow council member Bill Kauffman of Elba offers a fitting tribute to Wayne.
Wayne still sits in his own press box at home games as color commentator for all Muckdogs baseball games, broadcast here on WBTA.
