Federal agencies are back open in Batavia.
Since the bill passed to end the government shutdown this week, funding was restored for the Natural Resources Conservation. That means the Batavia service for the organization is back open.
Also, the Genesee County Soil and Water Conservation District has begun moving from its temporary headquarters back to the USDA Service Center on Liberty Street. It was forced to move to Bethany during the 16-day shutdown because the rent at its normal offices is paid for by the federal government.
Both agencies say program deadlines will likely be extended and website resources are coming back online for daily operations.
