Genesee County slept peacefully through the night. Thunderstorms did rumble through the area. A 40-mile per wind gust was recorded at the New York State School for the Blind in Batavia. No reports of any damage or weather related problems.
The severe thunderstorm alert for Genesee County was lifted earlier this morning.

If you were anywhere in Western New York, you could have felt the magnitude 5-point-0 earthquake yesterday afternoon, although many said they didn’t feel anything. The quake, centered just north of Ottawa, Canada, lasted about 30-seconds.Canadian officials reported no serious injuries or damage as a result of the tremor.
Budget talks going nowhere in Albany. Governor David Paterson and state Legislative leaders are now considering a new or increased sales tax to close New York's nine-billion-dollar budget deficit.The governor and legislative leaders insist progress is being made to reach a budget deal on Monday. The state budget is now 85-days late.
Local lawmen are on the lookout for credit card thieves in Batavia.
Authorities say the crooks raided cars at a Park Road hotel and a Gateway Drive retail store earlier this month. They took credit cards, and then used them at area businesses.
Police have released surveillance photos of two "persons of interest" in the case.
