Two guilty pleas in Orleans County Court over the death last year of an 8-year-old girl.
33-year-old Corey Buzard of Holley and his 17-year-old cousin, Courtney Buzard of Brockport pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a September 2009 car crash that killed Corey Buzard’s 8-year-old daughter, Abigal.
Police said Courtney Buzard was driving in the Town of Barre, lost control of the car, and rolled it down an embankment. Abigal was thrown from the vehicle and died.
It was later learned that Corey Buzard was drunk that night and forced his cousin Courtney, who did not have a license, to take the wheel.

There may have been some damage in Batavia from Wednesday’s Canadian earthquake.
New cracks have been discovered in the City Schools Administration Building on Washington Avenue that weren’t there before the shaker.
Buildings and Grounds Superintendent James Jacobs says the building dates back to 1890,cracks in the structure are nothing new. He said these latest cracks were attributed to the earthquake since they were not noted prior to the temblor. Jacobs says the school districts own maintenance staff will do repairs.
The City of Batavia will be improving sewers and waterlines this summer on Bank Street between Main and North.
The project will include partial sidewalk replacement and road paving. There will be a meeting about the project at city hall this Tuesday, June 29th from 4 to 7pm.
