The Genesee County History Department has had some time to get acquainted with new surroundings and now it has officially announced its new home.
Local historians from around the county attended a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday at County Building No. 2.
It was a huge effort to move all the archives from the old firehouse in West Main Street. It took more than two weeks to move boxes, newspapers, maps and photographs, notebooks, book shelves and much, much more.
The new environment will provide more space and protect archives from the flood plane risk they were in previously.
