Car Strikes Liquid Manure Hauler, 3 Hospitalized Including Two Kids
A two-vehicle accident in Bergen spills thousands of gallons of liquid manure onto the road and hospitalized three people including two very young children.
The incident occurred Friday morning on Townline Road in Bergen near Buffalo Street.
A 2005 Saturn driven by 27-year-old Samuel Smith of Townline Road, Bergen, and a Ford eight-wheel farm tractor hauling a triple-axle 7-thousand manure tanker were traveling eastbound.
The accident report indicates Smith’s car did not reduce speed in time and drove directly into the back of the liquid manure tanker. The Saturn went under the tanker, sheered off a valve cover and caused of manure to empty from the tank.
There were two other occupants in Smith’s car: 3-year-old Hayden Smith and infant Liam Smith. All three were taken to Strong memorial Hospital in Rochester by ambulance.
The driver of the farm tractor, Gary Herrmann, Jr. of Tower Hills Road, Byron, was not hurt.
Smith was ticketed.

A Genesee County Grand Jury has issued three indictments…
First is Danny Torok, Jr. who’s charged with felony burglary and criminal contempt counts for an incident May 16 on Maple Street. The indictment says Torok allegedly entered an apartment there, knowingly violating an order of protection.
He’s also accused of choking a woman on April 19.
Four men are indicted on charges they burglarized and stole almost $10,000 worth of cell phones and electronic devices from the AT&T Store on Veterans Memorial Drive in Batavia.
The Rochester men are charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree grand larceny for the incident June 17.
Also, Anthony Holohan is indicted on a Criminal Mischief felony charge for allegedly damaging two windows at the Indian Falls Log Cabin Restaurant.
The July 11incident caused almost $2,300 in damage.
Buffalo Man Charged after Clarion Inn Altercation
A Buffalo man is charged with harassment after an altercation at the Clarion Inn on Park Road in Batavia.
31-year-old Marion Spivey of Buffalo was charged with second-degree harassment after allegedly punched another man in the face while at the Clarion Inn.
Spivey was released on his own recognize and is due to return to court on December 20.
