A Byron woman is now in jail after being arrested yesterday for violation of parole. 34-year-old Stephanie Cotton of Mechanic Street in Byron was arrested at her residence yesterday. Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies say she was found in her residence hiding in her attic under insulation.
Cotton allegedly violated her probation for failing to comply with her conditions. She allegedly failed to show up to probation and failed to appear for her sentencing in Genesee County Court last June.
New Yorkers can now find out whether federal health care reform law will impact them. The state is launching a new website, HealthCareReform.ny.gov, to outline the changes under the federal law. New Yorkers can receive instructions to get health insurance coverage and learn how the new law will change existing federal programs like Medicare and Medicaid.

Batavia City Council will meet Monday night in regular session. Council members have a 5 item business agenda and a 3-item conference agenda.
Among those items, council members will vote on adjusting healthcare benefits for non-union city employees.
