The saga of the seagulls continues.

The County Health Department has responded to a complaint from Downtown Batavia’s Business Improvement District.
In a letter to the B.I.D., Board of Health President Mary McJury says the gulls are not a public health nuisance. While the parking lot of the former Latina’s is littered with feces, feathers, a decaying dead birds, those materials are apparently not even enough to threaten contamination of local drinking water supplies.
Furthermore, McJury says there have never been human health issues in New York State stemming from seagulls. No report of illness or injury resulting from the gulls has been reported to the County Health Department.
