A 21-year-old Batavia man accepts a plea deal in County Court today for trying to hold up the Dellinger Avenue Sunoco gas station.

Edward Woods III of Vine Street pleaded guilty to a count of second-degree attempted robbery. There is no sentencing cap.

On Jan. 22, police said Woods was armed when he entered the convenience store at the corner of Dellinger and West Main Street and demanded cash before fleeing on foot.
No one was hurt in the incident.

He was originally charged with criminal possession of a weapon, petit larceny, menacing and criminal mischief.
