Police are looking into a possible connection between bank robberies in East Aurora and Batavia.
The Batavia Police department is searching the suspect who robbed the Five Star Bank on East Main Street on Monday. The suspect was described as a white woman in her mid-20s, 5-foot-7 or 8, with a pink butterfly tattoo on her neck.
While the suspect arrested for the Wednesday robbery of Bank of America in East Aurora is not a person of interest at this time, Detective Sergeant Pat Corona says there will be inter-agency communication.
“We’re aware of that information in regards to the East Aurora bank robbery and we’re in very close contact right now with the East Aurora police department and the Orchard park Police Department and we’re trying to determine if the suspect that they have charges against in the East Aurora bank robbery is our suspect also.”
Authorities say the suspect, 25-year-old Ashley Reardon, could be behind other bank robberies in Hamburg and Orchard Park.
A 43-year-old man was also arrested for allegedly driving the getaway vehicle. Police say the Five Star Bank robbery did not involve a vehicle and the woman fled on foot.
