Communication from Haiti today, further reassuring worried citizens that two Batavia residents in that country are okay today.
An internet correspondence late last night from a missionary group leader confirms that all in the group are okay – including locals Sharon Wolf and Zach Ashley.
The correspondence reads:
"We have no way to call. Things in Les Cayes are fine and we are safe. Very little damage here. Slept outside last night because of aftershocks, but we are fine."
A special prayer service and collection for the Haiti relief fund will take place tomorrow at the First Trinity Lutheran Church in the Town of Tonawanda. That’s the church that Sharon Wolf and Zach Ashley traveled with to Haiti. The service will begin at 6:30pm tomorrow. The church is located at 15-70 Niagara Falls Boulevard in Tonawanda.
