National Grid approves a $130,000 grant to continue to the development of the Genesee Valley Agri-business Park.

The Genesee Gateway Local Development Corporation today announced the newest part of a $600,000 project to add an additional 37 acres of shovel-ready space to entice new companies.

The Genesee Agri-business Park in Batavia is the home of Alpina and Muller-Quaker. The real estate division of the Genesee County Economic Development Center recently acquired the land adjacent to the park.

The grant from National Grid will extend the current electrical distribution line along the newly constructed access road, as well as contribute to the engineering and design of water and sewer lines.

The entire project is being funded by the GGLDC and the New York State Homes and Community Renewal Agency.

It’s expected to create 100 construction jobs.
