To help protect the environment and keep potentially dangerous substances out the wrong hands, Genesee County police agencies are holding a prescription drug take-back day this Saturday from 10 to 2 p.m.

The event in October collected over 4 tons of unwanted and unneeded medications and needles from Western New York residents.

People participating can drive up and drop off with no questions asked.

Drop-off locations are the Batavia Police Department at 10 West Main Street, the LeRoy Police Department at 3 West Main Street and the Pembroke Town Highway Barns at Routes 5 & 77.

Will there be another date that a person can do this?

Hi Sharon,

It's usually held twice a year in Genesee County so you might have to wait until the Fall. We always announce when they are here on-air and online.
