11,000 speeding tickets were handed out by law enforcement statewide during this month’s Speed Week.

The five-day Operation-Hang Up also resulted in more then 3,400 tickets for distracted driving, according to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office.

Law enforcement stepped up patrols 13 days this month in an effort to curb distracted driving.

The governor’s office says the concentrated enforcement of distracted driving this month has resulted in a 300 percent increase in tickets issued for the offense.

Everyone should drive 10 mph under the speed limit. Why would you speed just to hand over money to this what a joke state?
