The CEO of Western Regional Off-Track Betting, Martin Basinait, speaking out today about his upcoming retirement. Basinait announced yesterday he will leave WROTB and Batavia Downs after 30 years.
Basinait spoke to us at length about a variety of issues - of his retirement, he says "it's just time"; he says he considers saving Batavia Downs his greatest accomplishment, he'll miss his co-workers the most; and of criticism he's received over the years...you can't please everybody.
Basinait’s retirement will go into effect as of February 2011.
