Nine former Livingston County jail deputies accused of falsifying time cards appeared in court this morning.

The jail deputies, who have all resigned, were arrested following a 17-month-long investigation by the county district attorney’s office and State Police. They were charged with misdemeanor counts of second-degree offering a false instrument for filing.

Seven of the men entered guilty pleas to a lesser charge this morning in Geneseo Village Court of fifth-degree criminal solicitation which is a violation.

One pleaded guilty to the original charge; One has yet to be arraigned.

Sheriff Thomas Dougherty has not offered comment on the situation but it expected to address media Monday afternoon.
