An Amber Alert this afternoon out of Greece, Monroe County, is cancelled about an hour after it was issued.
Police say Cassidy Geffert has been found safe. No other details are available at this time from law enforcement about the circumstances of what it called a “confirmed child abduction.”
Officials say the amber alert worked exactly as it should have: it located the teen girl quickly and efficiently.
The AMBER alert went out at just before 2 this afternoon, and reports that she had been found popped up at about 3 p.m.
Police said in the original report that the 16-year-old left note for her parents indicating she was in danger. The note had blood on it and victim’s cell phone number. They further said the household was in disarray with a knife on floor and .38 caliber handgun was taken from home.
