The Genesee County Economic Development Center board approves the sale of 30 acres in Apple Tree Acres Corporate Park in Bergen to a national company.
Insurance Auto Auctions has more than 160 locations and runs salvage auto auctions as well as sells totaled cars. It's moving its Rochester location to Bergen.
The company plans a $3 million capital investment in the corporate park. It’s expected to bring 15 jobs.
In a statement, VP of Business Development Chris Suozzi said “While we understand there might be concerns about a company moving its operations from Monroe to Genesee County, this transaction maintains IAA’s operations in the region, rather than risking losing the company to another state.”
Information on tax abatements was not immediately available.
Pending internal approvals, Suozzi said, IAA should being construction over the next couple of months.
