Funeral services are announced for the Batavia native who authorities say was shot by her boyfriend before he turned the gun on himself in Chautauqua County last week.
Nicole Sheehan and her boyfriend, Sam Reynolds, went to the lake to celebrate her birthday Thursday. After she was shot in the head, she was able to make it to a residence where she was transported to an Erie, Pennsylvania hospital.
She died one day later at age 29.
Sheehan was a Batavia High School and Genesee Community College graduate. She held a special education degree from Geneseo and worked in Buffalo as an instructor for People, Inc.
Family and friends may visit Friday from 3 to 7 at the Tomaszewski Funeral Home on West Main Street. A “Celebration of Nicole’s Life” will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Hours after she was shot, authorities were searching for Reynolds and heard a gun shot. They found him on Barcelona beach near Westfield with an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head.
